What are you doing right now??

I did take the Hellcat Pro Comp out to the range this morning. Very happy with the gun! Everything worked great and 200 rounds of mixed 9mm worked perfectly. First time I fired a gun with comp and its the bee's knees! I just might have to look at another compensated gun in the future. So not a bad day, sold a gun, and another one worked as advertised. Life is good.

Stopping off in Walker at one of our favorite craft breweries on the way back from a visit with in-laws at the Iron Range.
Decided to try a new stout they had in for fall called…Leaves of Fall Stout, what else?

It’s laced with maple, which puts an interesting twist on a stout. Not too sweet either, but I wouldn’t want to drink too many.

i guess going to school for 4 years is not enough
what kind of job in post office needs a high level clearance ....?
crazy...i sure hope it works out for the best
meanwhile.. well you know
He actually has a Master's Degree, and is currently working on a second Batchler's Degree in some kind of computer IT thing. But he finally realized that he can't make being a student his whole life a career (Thank God!). I'm not sure what he was looking at for a job in the USPS. He has always talked about wanting to work for the State Department, as he loves to travel all over the world. He would also need this kind of document for State Department work also. Don't worry, he's not some kind of flaming liberal...he likes the idea of having money and being able to enjoy the finer things in life. It's just that dad is getting tired of paying for it all! lol

Went to range this morning. I mounted Holosun optic to Taurus TX22. I used a bench rest to sight the optic in. Got it sighted in but..... optics are not for me. I can shoot just as good without the thing and personally I find it annoying. I don't see any benefit for me. So optic removed and put back in the box and stored away with other gun crap I don't use.

I love my Holosun green dots. They were game changers for me. The way you feel about optics is the same way I feel about lasers on a handgun. I'm very thankful that I had several friends let me try theirs out before I went out and wasted money on a laser. Those same three friends that let me try out their laser equipped pistols have all since ditched the lasers for red/green dot sights. But like they say, not everything is for everyone.

Hey!

We just got back from the Western Minnesota Steam Threshers Reunion in Rollag, MN. It takes place every year on the Labor Day weekend. Got back right before the rains hit. Wasn't supposed to rain today but what they say about the weather around here is...if you don't like the weather, wait a minute.
Anyway, while we were there it was sunny with very little wind. We usually go on the Labor Day Monday, but this year we went earlier, and I am really glad we did. It's the first time I got to see the big steam shovels operate. It was really cool to see!

Sorry for taking up so much room on this thread, pictures don't do them justice either. We were walking down the parade lineup and this guy pulled up.

There was a guy and his wife on an army jeep with a 50 cal cannon on the back. Missed my chance for a pic of him.
Then there was the train 😊

And the blacksmith shop...

Okay. I'm done. I suppose I should have posted a thread, sorry. But that's what we did this afternoon before the torrential rains hit. The husband wants to have a fire tonight, but the wood is pretty wet. We'll see...

Old industrial technology is cool. Thank for sharing. :)

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff
