don't wait, go out ASAP and get another pup, (or an older adult pup, in need of a loving home) at the local shelter(s)..the life you save there, will be YOU and YOUR wife's life's saving as well..

I've been in the very same situation. Hurts like hell. I've sworn "never again" but always succumbed to the desire to have a furry little buddy in the house.

The last time I lost my best friend, my daughter actually made a great suggestion. Go to the pound and pick a "last chance" mutt. The uglier and scragglier the better. My reply to my daughter was I don't want another dog, especially one that might only live another year or two. Her reply was that at least I could make the dog's last year(s) the best the dog has ever had.

Well, my last chance little buddy has surprisingly been with me for 5 years relatively health issue free.

You can never replace your best friend; just like you can't replace a child. But you can make a new friend!

Hang in there brother. My prayers are with you and yours.

checking email and got 1 about a super redhawk 480ruger being discounted by nearly 25% ($1,299.xx down to $902.xx). i want 1 so bad but gotta pay nearly 11k for the psycho deer damages to get the 3500hd back up and running. on 8-9 different occasions 1 has decided to be that chicken that needed to cross the road. in doing so 1 hit the driver's side rear door, 1 hit the passanger's side rear fender extension, 1 broke the passanger's mirror, 5 or more have crossed in front doinf damage to both front fenders and headlights. in most cases the insurance would be taking care of all of it minus deductible, but not wanting insurance to go up because of the psycho deer! the dumbass part is the bed alone is $2,500 and to paint/install/etc is another $2,500. now keep in mind i've bought $25k worth of upgrades and replacement parts (hood/headlights/taillights/outside mirrors/running boards/rear bumper/intercooler/tuner/grill/etc)

i'm grilling some bergers and 1 male cat jumped on top of the fridge in the garage and started meowing loudly in my face. usually he wants some snacks so i started walking towards where they're kept, but no................he went and sat next to the grill...................he wants bergers.........i feel my cats are dogs by some of their behaviors
