What do you guys think of this CCW lesson?

I’m pretty much exclusively carrying safetyless strikers now.
Lots of folks do, and like ‘em. Most cops carry that as well. I will say the Reflex has a much nicer trigger than any striker gun I’ve ever shot, and the three guys that work at my local toy store all agree, they passed mine around when I picked it up and we’re all very impressed. A long DA stroke isn’t bad, but a short, light, crisp trigger with NO safety isn’t my cup of tea. Point is though, each person needs to carry what they are comfortable with, Train hard with that and know their pistols strengths and weaknesses. Failure to do so is inviting problems that nobody needs. Sig 365 has been a standard for several years now. I bought one when thy first came out ( no safety). I liked it and it shot great, but I was not comfortable carrying it with one in the tube ( and I WON’T carry without one up the spout ).

I carry a Reflex w/o a safety. It is in my rotation so I train with it. When I carry it, it has one chambered. My trigger finger knows where it belongs, I don't worry about it. I train with four carry pistols regularly (dry and live fire), and none of them has a safety. Any handgun I have that has a safety, I leave it off. That's just me. I am comfortable with my firearm handling and I've had enough training with instructors to embed proper trigger and muzzle discipline.
That's just me...

I’m sorry, I’m late to the conversation. I suppose someone is going to come along and tell me .45 is better than 9mm. That I’m doing it wrong if I don’t clean a gun every time I shoot it. And hammer guns are better than plastic wonder nines.

BTW, does anybody actually know firsthand, someone who got gunned down because they didn’t get their safety off in time?

- 45 is NOT better than 9mm, nor is it worse, and I'll fight anyone that says otherwise
- The only gun I clean after shooting is my carry gun
- Hammer guns and Strikers both have their value and both are equally great. Personal preference, nothing more.
- All plastics are polymers, but not all polymers are plastics. But yes, polymer guns are indeed wonders

45 is better
