I’m gonna disagree with you on the Hi Power—and I really like my Hi Powers.I've had a long time love affair with the 1911. Its my favorite pistol and I have a bunch of 'em.![]()
A lightweight Commander in .45 was my primary carry for most of my adult life. Still have it and still carry it from time to time.
When I was shooting IDPA regularly, I used a Springfield Loaded Model 1911 in .45acp. No, I didn't wimp out for a 9mm version.
As for the 2011? A much better single action, double stack 9mm has been around since 1935. The Hi-Power.![]()
Nothing wrong with tactical tupperwareBesides, everybody knows real men carry metal framed 1911’s chambered in .45 ACP just as was always intended. None of them puny yurpeon metric cartridges in sum durn plastic toy pistol…. (that ought to get the glockamoleans goin)
I love shooting 1911's and enjoy them just like I do M1 rifles, M1 carbines, and 1903 Springfields, but they've all been replaced for a reason.
When they let me keep only one, it'll be one of my Glocks.

Hi,
I actually have two 1911 pistols, Garrison in .45 and Ronin in 9mm, but I'd still like to add one of these to my one-of-each collection.

Thank you for your indulgence,

The perfect setup, Faulk !I love shooting 1911's and enjoy them just like I do M1 rifles, M1 carbines, and 1903 Springfields, but they've all been replaced for a reason.

5.56 is a pretty weak sister compared to an ‘06.I’ll take a Garand with a couple dozen clips full of black tip ammo over a AR any day![]()

Welcome to the forum from South Texas.I don’t always shoot 45 acp, but when I do, I choose 1911
my legacy xd 9 mm 4.5 service is my go to one most oftenI currently own 3 carry guns. A Glock 17, a Hellcat Pro and Kimber Custom 45 1911
My Hellcat is my go to every day gun, especially in the summer because it's easier to carry.
My Kimber is my go to for church, especially on Sundays as I wear a suit coat. I'll be strapping it on in a little over an hour.
My Glock rarely leaves the safe
Becuase I know if I need to make a perfect shot across a crowded sanctuary I am making that with my Kimber. Not so with my Glock. If I am getting into a full out firefight, sure, give me the 17 merely for capacity. But if I absolutely NEED that one precision shot, 1911 all day, any day.
I don't have one. I did at one time. I don't miss it. Closest thing I currently have is a Ruger P345 or a Springfield SA-35.
