WTF is happening in New York?

The democrats will do it anyway. This is why this nation is in the predicament it is in. "We can't do that, we are better/above all that". Democrats do it and make the Republicans look like a bunch of simpering wusses. "If we do that, the democrats will do that when they get in power". Well, they do those things anyway, and again make us look like idiots. We need to fight fire with fire. We need to do what is needed to fix things. IF the Republicans do that, and the economy and everything else improves dramatically, I don't see the dems getting in power again. Especially when their socialism/communism fails. And the only thing that kept the filibuster was Sinema and Manchin. They are gone, leaving only one possible moderate: Fetterman. Think about that. And, the filibuster was NOT, nor was it EVER a part of the way our Founding Fathers laid out how our government would run. It is NOT a part of the Constitution. Just like the Senators being voted for by the electorate. The original way it worked was the States Congresses elected the Senators and sent them to DC. We The People voted for the House of Representatives. They changed that, and we blindly went along with that.
I think you may have missed my point. By removing filibuster now, Republicans will run over Democrats in the near term, and then Democrats will likely come out by the millions more in 2026 mid terms over Republicans voters once they see there is nothing to stop (at least through voting) their socialist/communist march going forward. The House and Senate will likely end in Democrat super majorities starting January 3, 2027 (and then filibuster won’t matter anyway).

It doesn’t matter what the Founders intended, we are where we are. Congress on both sides was NEVER meant to be a lifelong, paid vocation. Again, it is what it is. I fail to see how ending the filibuster today would aid Trump in any way that betters the United States overall, and not just some of his buddies. I love a LOT of Trump’s policies (voted for him three times). I do NOT like his blatant nepotism. Not a fan of his communication skills either.

Same here, supported him also, but his ramblings at his press conferences gets old really fast

What bothers me the most is people cannot get past their hatred for Trump, so they just can't see the big picture.
Just look what is happening in Minnesota, Dearborn Michigan and now in New York.
When or if they have voters' remorse the communist socialists will already have a good foothold.
yup they insisted the economy was still worse
yes its not the best it can be
but unscrewing up the last 4 years takes time...much longer than 9 months

Exactly. I've been voting for over ( blank) years and have never missed an election.

I can't remember ever voting for anybody that won an election at the national elections, other than the guy who's in the White House now.
It comes down to semantics .

Did anyone l voted for win ? Yes

Did my actual vote have any effect on that ? No .

My state always voted heavily for the other side , and thus gave our Electorial votes to the opponent .

I think New Yorkers should take a page from the Dem's playbook. No matter what Mandami does, they should just bury him in law suits opposing it. If nothing else, it'll slow him down and bring his plan into the light. ;)
