Because right now, our President is 100% communist by definition:
That’s quite the stretch.
I could be wrong, but I’m pretty sure tariffs are paid by countries exporting goods to the US. And for many decades it has been one sided - I still remember being stationed in Okinawa in the early 80s and if a national living there wanted to buy a US car, Japan tacked on about $10k-$15k (probably $50k adjusted for inflation). Yet Japan regularly exported their cars to the US, where they were priced as the rest of the US market (maybe $1-$2k more, but they WERE much better quality than US cars build in the 80s).
I’m also pretty sure in communism, the State takes over complete control of production, not a small share of it, and the previous owners of those companies no longer own or make money from any of it, and then all profits are divided amongst the entire populace (in theory).
I’ve said here before that I’m not a fan of some of Trump’s antics, but putting the US on equal (or near equal) footing with all other Countries on imports/exports absolutely needed to happen (IMO).
Democrats put Trump in office twice by failing to run a candidate appealing to the middle. Clinton was damaged and Harris was anointed, not democratically chosen to be the D candidate. And before you go there, there are some women I would vote for in a heartbeat. I voted for Haley over Trump in the primary. Back in the day, I could easily have voted for Condoleeza Rice. This lady that just get elected Governor of Virginia, I think, seems reasonable, not a looney far left socialist liberal (though I’m sure she and I would disagree on some things).
I do think the $2000 rebate checks are ridiculous though. All tariffs monies should go directly to the National Debt. Also not a fan of blowing up the boats, though I’m not privy to intel. I hate that he tries to monetize a lot for apparent personal gain…though Biden was just as guilty of that. Not a fan of some of his pardons.
But I digress. I really just don’t think Trump comes CLOSE to being a communist (or a socialist for that matter). Don’t think Biden or Harris were either - but the Democrats have a lot of politicos that proudly identify as such (and some even run under the marxist/socialist flags). Well, communist party to, for that matter, even on US ballots.
