For you 1911 guys how many mags do you carry?

Also from the dark ages, a cheap "holster" from the pair of reading glasses is the perfect size to slip in a 1911 magazine. Keeps the dust and lint out. If you are going to pocket carry mags....

Back in the day of uniform and other stuff, I carried 3 extra mags iwb, regardless of caliber. I have had to go to work in some really weird areas.

You and me both Brother. I had a second mag pouch made with a RED CROSS on the flap, so it looked like a IFAK, because my boss would have freaked if he knew I was carrying extra ammo

I figured first aid was important but first hits were more important

We have some deputies out there in the brush with the cartels, but I don't think the Sheriff really cares about the number of reloads they have. One deputy has the nickname of Pancho because of his bandoliers. Until the fence was done, it was an absolute war zone for a while.

Bandolier with 25 mags. A bare minimum for trips into Portland proper. Yep, 200 rounds of Federal 230 grain Hydra-Shok not to mention the 9 rounds in the pistol.

Yep,back when I was a Deputy that was the rule. Have enough ammo and equipment to get back in because the Sheriff didn't want to have to tell our families we weren't coming home. Those days the only thing the Department provided was shirt pants a star and a patrol car.
