Yep,back when I was a Deputy that was the rule. Have enough ammo and equipment to get back in because the Sheriff didn't want to have to tell our families we weren't coming home. Those days the only thing the Department provided was shirt pants a star and a patrol car.We have some deputies out there in the brush with the cartels, but I don't think the Sheriff really cares about the number of reloads they have. One deputy has the nickname of Pancho because of his bandoliers. Until the fence was done, it was an absolute war zone for a while.
