So today started with body work on my Dakota. Then I got the text that said I could pick up my lower. I already had the upper put together and the parts to finish.... So that is how the rest of the day went.

I'm bringing a lever action. .357mag. For my daughter its going to be either a 5.56 or 7.62x39. Both are AR platforms. It will be interesting to see which way she leans. This is for whitetail.

At this point in my life I should be a member of Taurus Annonymous (and Glock Annonymous). I am still hunting the elusive 460 Raging Hunter. It's actually not very elusive, I'm just poor.

I picked up a copy of the Odyssey. It is the, "The Odyssey" is a full transcript of the Odyssey hero myth by Samuel Butler in 1900. I figured this version would be less prone to having it rewritten through the eyes of a special interest group, and just be good book.

I am interested in the short one with the rail and cut for an optic. I don't want another full length another one, my SA-35 fits that bill.

I don't really buy anything new from anywhere. Except guns and limited tech. I feel that these (guns) catastrophically failing may be bad for business and lead to a lot of suits (Sig....). I like technology, mostly. As long as I can get into it and theoretically turn off the spyware. Still...

To go with the .45 AR lower from PSA I have ordered a lower parts kit, buffer tube, flat wire buffer spring, charging handle and castle nut. 😬

I went the opposite route and have an AR an 7.62x39. Except for hunting ammo, not expensive.

I carry my SA-35. I don't see any real advantages for newer guns over it, with the exception of weight. I can put a light on it. I can have it milled for a red dot. I can run high capacity mags, up to 32 rounds.

Second trip to the range. Seems to like 73 Grain PPU JHP. All of this was at 7 yard line, free standing. Someone left this target on the backer. I stuck my high-speed, low-drag .22 target on the lower half. My point of aim was the apex of the thin circle, where it meets the base of the top...

So I managed to get it to the range. I was shooting Federal 40 grain bulk pack mostly. My first shots were literally just to see what I would need to adjust. Running around 5" low. I fixed it in short order. This was what I wanted before walking it it out to 50 yards. Here's 50 yards...

I scored some .308 TulAmmo at my local hardware store. $14.99 a box. I also purchased a box of .32 ACP PPU Defense Line at my local AFB BX.

I'd feel okay with just a .25 (I need more mags for mine, 2 - 3 at least ;)). But then again I've been known to carry a .22 and not feel like I was at a disadvantage. If someone made a .25 that had sights as good as my LCP Max... dang. I'd have one in every pocket, and I wear tactical pants...
