My point. 6.5 is a proven long range round-works in auto actions. Why not just go that route and forego ultra high pressure rounds with 3 piece cartridge cases.

Very old airframes, high hours, etc. They are incredible planes, but even the “new” ones are 60 years old. Add that to the fact that there is an attrition rate on all aircraft and it becomes one of those things. Prayers for the crew and their families.
