My competition gun gets cleaned when it starts to malfunction. Usually about every 5000 rounds or so. Right now it is at 7800 or so rounds out without cleaning. EDC gets cleaned after every use. So several times a year.

Hmm....might have to talk with my XDM10 4.5 OSP that sees use during the winter months while hunting. All these years and it has went boom every time I asked it to. Even mornings when the dot is crusted over with ice.

Both work 99.9999% of the time. I prefer striker fired as I hate a manual safety.
