You may still be correct, you certainly were before the zero tax. Now everything you are saying can be handled with the Will and a Form 4A trust will be way beneficial for loved ones to sort out after we pass on who gets what and any future legal concerns with NFA items. A trust and a will make it easier for family, or courts, power of attorney, and all that jazz when we pass on .
Im just going by what ATF said last week when we had a mother-in-law wanting to transfer a suppressor that was will from her husband to the son-in-law. It used to be a Form 5 but they no longer do that. The Form 5 isnt even listed on the eForms list
