Why is it that men don't feel the need to read instructions? At least mine doesn't..
Since I’m outta ur new rifle range, I’m gonna respond, ‘ why no need to read the suggestions ?’ … I’m thinking for the same reason women, especially wives, have an uncanny ability to recall those very few times (!?!) us men screw it up !! Yes, the sky is a lovely rainbow color in my imaginary world

And this has been probably the most fun build I've done - and man, do people either love it or hate it

It's currently awaiting some LPK parts and a 16" 6.5CM barrel ( which I need to decide if I want to cut down to 14.5 with the 15" handguard, or leave it at 16" )

Why would anyone do a somewhat of a long range cartridge with a short barrel? 18" sure, 16" maybe, but anything less doesn't make sense. I understand it's a choice, but what purpose would it be

It's inspired by the MRGG-A - Mid Range Gas Gun Assault, done by LMT, FN, Geiselle, KAC, even Aero

As for why 14.5, basically it's the shortest and most competent package that will outperform 308 in every way. A 14.5" will give you 24” Grendel performance basically, capable of reliably touching 1100-1300 yards, and will stay supersonic out to that point as a 14.5 will spit a 130gr at anywhere from 2460-2560fps, and a 123gr at 2575-2675fps, all while also having a flatter trajectory.

It boils down to it being the most efficient smallest package for a gas gun. The NSW contract these are meant to replace the SCAR 17, the 6.5CM was the round requirement, for something that also had decreased weight but increased range and accuracy.

Do you have a chrono? If so (or the use of another's) I'd be interested in the info (velocity, bullet style and weight).
A 300bo can get out that far also along with many other cartridges, but as you mentioned it will have a different/increased trajectory.

I specifically do not, but this redditor has been documenting his stuff

I believe he works for Thunder Beast suppressor company too based on his post history.

As for a suppressor? Eventually.... once it gets out of jail. Till then, well... RIP to anyone at the indoor range as I do the initial zeroing

I don't see where it states barrel length. If they're from a 14.5", then I'll out the info info target solution and get trajectory info.

If you put a 14.5 inch barrel on it, won't it be a pistol then? if so is the lower registered as a pistol and that stock would have to go.
If the barrel with the muzzle device exceeds the required 16in length of the OAL and is permanently fixed by pin and welding, then a 14.5in barrel can be used on a legal non SBR rifle. There are factory short barrels that come with a pin and welded muzzle device to achieve the 16in requirement.
