It’s a Camel. Qatar doesn’t allow that kind of “it identifies as a…..” stuff@Warrior9(Ret) a humpless camel? Well that’s nothing more than an alpaca!
i don't know. a humpless camel is like a skinny santa claus. it's just not right. It’s a Camel. Qatar doesn’t allow that kind of “it identifies as a…..” stuff![]()
And the reason we got the M1A2 in sufficient numbers a few years after the Gulf War is because the Saudis and Kuwaitis bought them. Originally, the US was going to make only 62 to validate the production line and to equip the training base. Similar situation as with the F-15. During the Gulf War we used mostly M1A1 Heavy Armor (HA) with 120mm gun. However I know of two battalions that went into combat with original M1s/IPM1s with the 105mm.While this new 747-8i won't be upgraded to the level of the two new 747-8i VC-25's that Boeing is working on, L3 & the USAF will do some mods & a thorough evaluation of the aircraft (apparently already being done). Nothing will "sneak" through.
It just won't get all the "gold-plating" the the official VC-25s get.
That said, it's a good deal for the taxpayer.
BTW - Qatar plays both sides of the street, and the reason we have the new F-15EX is that Saudi Arabia & Qatar paid for all the new upgrades to the F-15 with their previous F-15SA & F-15QA versions. So, the USA got a great new F-15 with a minimal R&D $$ from the taxpayer.
It's always good to get some other country to pay for the R&D upgrades. And the reason we got the M1A2 in sufficient numbers a few years after the Gulf War is because the Saudis and Kuwaitis bought them. The 105s were still very adequate against all the Ruskie tanks there, including in the updated USMC M60A1s who cleaned up going into Kuwait City. And the reason we got the M1A2 in sufficient numbers a few years after the Gulf War is because the Saudis and Kuwaitis bought them. You’re speaking to much common sense for the govtIt's always good to get some other country to pay for the R&D upgrades.
SInce several countries have indicated they want to buy the F-15EX its a good time for the USA to order in bulk to replace all the legacy F-15E's that have been ridden hard.
Basic Econ101 is the higher the production number = a low per unit cost.
DJT needs to ask Boeing for their best price for a whole F-15E replacements plus the 50 that Israel wants.
Open up a regular production line in Boeings new plant in St. Louis and crank them out as a bridge until the USAF finalizes the F-47 design.
Send the older F-15Es with the weak PW engines to the bone-yard & the newer but well-worn "Es" with the "129 engines" to the USAF Reserves/or state ANG units for homeland defense, as the "EXs" roll off the line in numbers.

a dromedary is one humped camel. a drama-dary is a camel that shrieks at the sight of a spider. (oh man that was a terrible joke)A humpless camel? What will they think of next? A camel with two humps? Which one is a dromedary?
YepJust one more seriously bad idea on a long list of bad ideas since he took office.
My opinion.
I will counter that opinion:Just one more seriously bad idea on a long list of bad ideas since he took office.

i'd be on board with it if the defense department paid fair market value for it rather than having it gifted to them. that's the part that doesn't sit right with me.I will counter that opinion:
Boeing cant deliver a new Air Force One on time, nor on budget. The current fleet is getting super expensive to maintain and update.
The ideal solution as the AF points out is for a model of 747 that is in service around the world and many are for sale.
All L3Harris has to do is modify and not wait on Boeing’s delays.
Save taxpayer money. Save time.
