Yes it is. It violates the emoluments clause. This (gift) after office goes into the Trump presidential library. He keeps it. And nobody else.Accepting money or a gift from a foreign country...isn't that illegal ? aka: Bribe ?

yup and qatar is not giving it to president..its going to air force to modify for use as presidential conveyanceI will counter that opinion:
Boeing cant deliver a new Air Force One on time, nor on budget. The current fleet is getting super expensive to maintain and update.
The ideal solution as the AF points out is for a model of 747 that is in service around the world and many are for sale.
All L3Harris has to do is modify and not wait on Boeing’s delays.
Save taxpayer money. Save time.
Not trueyup and qatar is not giving it to president..its going to air force to modify for use as presidential conveyance
so next guy or gal gets its
most of the 747s that go into presidential use are USED. gov buys older generation birds and rehabs them
lots cheaper than new and boeing has been playing shell game since trumps 1st term, with costs and delays etc
how soNot true
No argument.POTUS 46 had a much longer list.
Past Presidents don't "own" their Presidential Libraries/Centers a Federal Agency, the National Archives and Records Admininstration (NARA) does.Yes it is. It violates the emoluments clause. This (gift) after office goes into the Trump presidential library. He keeps it. And nobody else.

A 'bad idea' and 'skeezy stuff': MAGA allies criticize Trump deal to take a Qatari jet as Air Force One
The Qatari plane and its whiff of excess would also seem at odds with Trump’s message that Americans may have to make do with less as he remakes the global economic order.www.nbcnews.com
want to get blown awayPast Presidents don't "own" their Presidential Libraries/Centers a Federal Agency, the National Archives and Records Admininstration (NARA) does.
While the libraries are often constructed and initially funded with private donations, they are then transferred to the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), a federal agency. NARA then operates and maintains the libraries.
Here's a more detailed explanation:
- Private Funding and Construction:
Presidential libraries are typically constructed with private funds, often through donations to non-profit organizations established by the former president.
- Transfer to NARA:
Once the library is built, it's transferred to the federal government, specifically NARA, which takes responsibility for its operation and maintenance.
- Federal Ownership and Management:
The libraries, along with their contents (records, artifacts, etc.), become the property of the American people and are managed by the Office of Presidential Libraries within NARA.
- Presidential Records Act:
The Presidential Records Act of 1978 dictates that all official records of the President are owned by the United States government and managed by NARA.![]()

So, the Emoluments Clause doesn't apply.
So, the donated 747-8i would be owned and operated by the US Government during Trump 2.0, then transfered to the Trump Center/Library when its ready for it.

Can you give me a list of politicians in the last 30 years who aren’t guilty of doing business with them ? We’ve been selling military arms to Saudi Arabia for decades. We literally armed Iran in the 70s.Nothing changes the fact of accepting the plane from a known Islamic evtreanist sympathizer... I'm out.
Yup. Post Gulf War I was assigned with a man who was the ops officer of one of the 105mm M1 battalions. He told me after the cease fire they towed three relatively intact T-72s at 1000m, 2000m and 3000m from the M1 and all presenting the front slope. At 1000m the 105 had an in-out; through the front slope and out the back. At 2000m and 3000, the 105 achieved penetration of the front slope with no problem. The advantage of keeping the 105 for decades is we only had to improve the ammo. A far cheaper solution. The 105s were still very adequate against all the Ruskie tanks there, including in the updated USMC M60A1s who cleaned up going into Kuwait City.
