Show off your 1911

Not to everybody’s taste, of course. And to be honest, I was hoping for one a bit less ‘busy’ looking, for lack of a better term. Also with ledge rear and no dots. ( Standard Manufacturing offers no options; I asked). Venerable.45 of course.

But it’s distinctive, has front & back grip checking. DEAD-ON accurate !
(an acquaintance of mine - 20+ yrs LEO & instructor - tried it and verified;) )

Anybody else with one, pls PM me. Got some questions about fading of case hardening and clearcoating.

With a 1791 holster might make a good BBQ gun.

Everyone have a great weekend.

That is a neat looking pistol, case hardening looks awesome

Here's the Colt Combat Commander I bought in 1973, brand new for $135.00. Made payments for three months on layaway, since that amount was close to our house payment at the time. It's been a great shooter, but the trigger on my SA Loaded is even better. Next purchase will be a blued Garrison, not on layaway this time.

1973 Combat Commander got in a trade back in the early 2000's for $200 + reloaded ammo, thought I got a good deal until I realized the grip safety didn't work at all.

After a complete internals overhaul it's been on my side typically during the Winters here (it rusts easily during the sweaty Summers)

Only other thing I've had done is to send it off to get Big Dot Express sights to aid my aging eyes

My TISAS 1911 Service Cheap Pistol shot at range today couple guys shooting Springers next lane. They commented on my 2"-3"inch groups @ 10 yards. Just got into 1911s They were getting paper Plate size. Told the use 8" targets makes you shoot better Groups. Some day I'll upgrade added new Hellcat this week second range visit with that did better today.
