Show off your 1911

That EB pistol is nice!!
Thanks. Last time I was wheeling and dealing with LGS, took it as part of deal…convinced them to adjust their offer to include the EB (and got me to what I was asking for total). I doubt I’d ever pay the $$ outright to buy one straight up, but who knows after I shoot it. One of the things I like about trading with LGS 😃, I get guns crossing my path now and then I’d probably never buy outright.

Field stripped and lubricated it well today, as tomorrow will be the maiden voyage at the range, well, I guess ever except for any test rounds at EB.

And yep, all three loose…sigh. Sad part is, I’ve never taken the grips off so there was no reason for one to be missing and the other three loose…well, except for poor QC.
Grip screws coming loose from recoil on 1911's is something I have come to expect, especially with .45. Same thing with my P220 Sigs. Locktite helps, I just tighten them every time I shoot, but not too much. Break off a screw and you have a bigger problem. I keep a couple sets of spare 1911 grip screws on hand just in case.

Ordered 5 (replacement for missing one and 4 spares) and 4 o-rings from MGW. Everything on the grip feels solid, so I’m thinking the bushing is okay. Guess I’ll have to delay the Emissary’s trip until screws get here. Maybe the TRP will be here by then! Longest I’ve ever waited for a gun to ship to my LGS from the online dealer I ordered it from!

Maybe I’ll get brave and order some grips and bushings for the Emissary and learn how to install it all from the get go!
