Show off your 1911

So I had my first experience working with 1911 grip bushings today. I had one particular bushing that I could not for the life of me remove successfully. Enter the Challis Bushing Extractor Tool. This brilliant little wonder could have saved me hours of fiddling with a warped bushing trying to remove the thing had I bought it weeks earlier. But alas, we live and we learn. The long and short of it is I finally was able to install some killer new grips on my Taurus PT1911 Commander in 45acp making it look worlds better if you ask me. Any thoughts on similar experiences? I'd be interested in hearing some other horror stories working with grip bushings. Happy Shooting !!

My kimber 1911 DS has kept me going for over 3 years and counting and I'm on the verge of giving him a new buddy the S.A 1911 Bourbon Model I came across at Fortis Gun Supply and now that will be a pretty good deal.
