I worked at a Neuro/psychology office.
Yes a person can be addicted to THC just like many other things humans are addictive too.
If you do not believe, you just keep telling yourself that as you light up another dooby.

Well when they roll the window down and the smell makes you take a step back and we see empty Cheetos bags in the car, we can usually tell lol. As far as the fentanyl I have no clue why they are cutting weed with such a dangerous thing, In my area we see that in other heavy drugs. Not sure what ever happened to grow n roll.

Bear103, in the area of central Virginia that I live in on just about any afternoon during rush hour if I have to sit at a major interestion through several cycles of the stop light I'm afraid I might get high because that's all I can smell.

I smoked weed for about 30 years. Got a job that drug tested, stopped immediately and in the 14 years since I’ve never had the urge to smoke Weed. I can’t go a half hour without a cigarette.

Similarly I smoked cigs for 20 years and had random weird chest pain 10 years ago and quit. never had urge after

Legalized weed destroyed Colorado.
I've said this multiple times Colorado went hard blue in conjunction with the legalization of marijuana.
I'm not sure what caused the idea to take hold but I ran into homeless people every night at work who would come to Colorado for "Free" weed.
I was working days as a medical assistant at Colorado Springs Health Partners and nights is a security guard at the Kiowa Garage in downtown Colorado Springs.
I inprocessed patients every day who during the initial intake wanted to know if the doctor was easy tio get an MMJ card from.
People moved to Colorado from all over the country specifically because marijuana s legal here.
I don't think it's entirely coincidental that that's when Colorado started turning blue.
Our crime rate has gone up. When we lived in our apartment we couldn't go a day without the entire apartment smelling like marijuana because our neighbors were smoking it.
I'm going to say it again I think it was part of a plan to turn Colorado blue

They're cutting weed with fentanyl now ? I don't see how that would make sense. Does that soften the pot seeds so they don't get stuck in the needle when they shoot up the pot ?

It gets them addicted to that dealers weed. Typically very low doses - only enough to have a mild effect and create dependence longer term.
Smoking fentanyl is more popular than shooting up now.

Think of it this way: It's only about the $$$$$$.
Everyone from China making very cheap and strong fentanyl, to those whose transport, then those who do the mixing of fentanyl (wearing N95 mask and gloves and ventilation)with cannabis or other sustenance's.
Then find a way to get to USA market, where as the dealers cut into various strengths.
Then your dealer, who only cares about $$$$$$ will tell you how great buzz you get.
So the non-addicted end-user says: Yea "dat wha im talken bout, here take my $$$$$$".
We all know your dealer only cares about your personal health and well being and would never ever sell anything that is bad for you? As they think, "I know, Trust me as I am not dead yet or even addicted in any way". "I can quit anytime until I have my next doobie.

Also in the USA alone there are over 80K dead each year from drugs and over 70K dead from alcohol abuse(usually when driving).
One thing, I knew these patients by first name and know their full history (i am not one to judge anyone and neither is the doctor) as we are here to help where we legally can.
Every so often we find out that a patient died and their blood test reveals high levels of narcotics. Yes we all know just a coincidence from a non-addicted patient.

I did not know that. But I'm old and naive. I didn't think about a weed dealer using fentanyl to get his weed customers hooked. But even though they have stores here that sell all different brands of weed I suppose it could happen.
My son's a cop, yet it seems somehow I've aged out of the loop. I do know weed is low on his list of concerns. They have a bunch of murders over other stupid nonsense, not weed.
Interesting. As a paramedic, most of the shootings I worked were over weed deals.

Apparently my son's clientele are possessive of their neighborhoods. He responded to a double-homicide in one neighborhood already this week. And for some reason, fans of one rapper really don't like the fans of another rapper because of arti$tic difference$

The rap-artist killings are nothing new here... most of the times we responded to those there wasn't a patient, just bodies.
As for weed, you can't buy weed in the store here. It's also the highest volume of illegal transactions (more weed smokers than crack smokers or meth heads), so it's the highest number of "I'm gonna rob him" assaults between dealers, customers, etc.

So, if you COULD eliminate the illegal weed criminal turf wars by selling weed in stores (or at least minimize them), why would you continue to facilitate the illegal market instead ?

I live in Colorado, a state where recreational Weed is legal ( I want to clarify that even before recreational weed became legal in Colorado there were doctors that would sign you an MMJ card for athlete's foot).
You can walk into a weed shop anywhere and buy it.
In practice what's happening is it every time the city government needs money they slap another tax on weed. The overall fact is that the price of legal weed is so high that the elicit dealers can raise their prices significantly and still undercut the legal weed dealers and once that weeds in the jar in your house to police can't tell you didn't buy it from Maggie's Farm (which recently went bankrupt by the way).
Banks won't touch weed money, that makes recreational and medical weed an all cash business.
Weed stores get robbed, Weed dealers get busted for income tax evasion.
I can't draw you a direct correlation but the crime rate in Colorado has increased significantly since we got legal weed

Cigarettes vs smack and coke is semantics and subjective.
Ex smokers might sometime crave a cig decades later . But the physical discomfort and debilitating of herion withdrawal is exponentially more severe than cold turkey on tobacco.
On related topic , alcohol withdrawal is far more likely to cause actual Death , than smack .
In the context of video game addiction, social media addiction, sex addiction, gun forum addiction, etc people might make poor decisions to spend too much time doing weed instead of doing more important things .
But Physical Addiction? Nope .
Because despite having "Republican" leadership here, said leadership also prefers "big government" at the state level and prefers an authoritarian approach to governing, including forcibly protecting individuals from making their own choices about what's safe for them to consume (the same goes for what state they decide to gamble in - no casinos in Texas so that revenue goes to adjoining states).
Republicans here are not the party of freedom and smaller government... but they're the only ones supporting any form of gun right (which is still authoritatively established only in law, not in our state constitution, meaning we're one legislative session away from completely losing the right to carry... and they keep it that way so folks have reasons to be more afraid of them losing power than having it).
