Ammunition & Reloading

Welcome to the recently improved Reloading section, now known as Ammunition & Reloading. Thanks to the suggestions of our members and the brainstorming of our distinguished staff. Where all discussions on ammunition and reloading are now consolidated, no need to hunt through pages of threads in other categories to find information on any elusive round or those pesky specs on reloading; from now on, they can all be found here. Please post any future postings regarding any form of ammunition in this section. If you know of a post regarding ammunition that is lingering in other sections of the forum, please gently bring it to our attention so we can move it to its appropriate new home. Over the next several weeks, mods and forum staff will be moving any we can find. Leave no page unturned. We do not want any stray bullets unaccounted for out there.

How can you let us know of posts that need to be moved?

Simply post the URL of the post in this thread, and forum staff will move it.

Example below:

FYI if not found yet...

Please provide URLs. We are already hunting for the posts, so URLs make it a lot easier. Your first reply was perfect, please continue those.
Understand

BTW you can get the URLs for the Cartridges of the Week posts by just going to the URL pages 2-8 links (searches) I provided back then to get the individual cartridge posts for their URLs to move.

Ammo prices are coming down here

I was in my LGS yesterday and was pleasantly surprised to see 9mm Fiocchi 115 grain ball at $11 per box. That's the best price I have seen since COVID. Now if we could just get .45acp into reasonable territory.

Hey, you used my thread to show how to post ammo/reloading threads, do I get royalties now?? 😬😬😬😬

actually, just cleaned up my reloading bench....reloaded only 300 rounds of 9mm....

4.3 grains, Titegroup, 115 plated RN Berry's bullets, 1.135 OAL...

if i go by the book OAL (Lyman 50th edition) none of my CZ's will shoot them....on another site, someone had said he made his OAL to the 1.135, and all his guns shoot perfectly, so i tried it, it works, i'll keep the 9mm OAL at 1.135.

but the one CONSTANT that bugs the crap outta me...is the lee Pro4000 that i use for 9mm....

dang thing, i ALWAYS have to check powder drop, and seating adjustments.....

compared to the Dillon...

on the Lee, i left "some powder" in the hopper from the last usage months ago, just like the Dillon....and all was fine for the first 20 rounds...then it STOPPED dropping powder...

so i take the plastic container off, and "mixed up" the remaining powder in the metal end where the container sits...

all the powder started dropping again

i mean like what da hell......i NEVER have to do that with the Dillon.

i run a dehumidifier in the basement on humid days....

BOTH presses have covers on them when not in use.......

BOTH presses are filled with Titegroup, but only (say) about 1/2 from the bottom of the plastic container.....

but the absolute annoyance of the Lee NEEDING CONSTANT readjustments is down right BS, over the Dillon....

now too, the all too real possibility of the Berry's bullets being a "hair or two" longer every now and then exists, they are not all the exact same size as mentioned in several other websites.

i get my 45 ACP plated 230 grain, .451 diameter bullets from Everglade Ammo.....

too much variance in the Berrys from one bullet to another..>????

making me think i CONTINUALLY NEED to make adjustments..???

no, sorry, i didn't measure each and every bullet........before reloading.

even when i reloaded lead bullets......it was the same aggravating thing with the Lee......CONTINUALLY readjusting the dies

ALL Lee carbide dies in the Lee press, only a Dillon crimp die in the Dillon, all others are Lee carbide dies.

and why oh why does the Lee powder drop NEED constant adjustment as well, when not in use for several weeks or months at a time..???

and the Dillon...does not...????

i am being "pro-active" again...

on one of the Dillon facebook pages, a reloader posted this picture..

its the rod that pushes back the primer bar (the same bar that i have new springs coming this week???)

apparently this bar breaks around or just after the 7K round count.....

so, i ordered up 2 just now.

and when the original one does break..??? i will call Dillon for hopefully a free one.

for you non Dillon guys, it goes where this yellow outline is
