You don't have to tell me anything, just like you didn't need to pick out my post to respond to. I don't think our paths will ever cross in Hooterville. Probably best for both of us.Don't know what to tell you.
I mean, I have no idea if you have a problem or not nor do I care but based on my experience, your defensiveness is an indicator. You don't have to tell me anything, just like you didn't need to pick out my post to respond to. Sure, whatever.I mean, I have no idea if you have a problem or not nor do I care but based on my experience, your defensiveness is an indicator.
I WANT to be an alcoholic (luv Kahlua), but my quack says no more alcohol.![]()
A classic sleeper movie.
And to get this thread back on track…A classic sleeper movie.
He quoted your post because you finished with “know your limits”. He was responding that he has no limits because he is an alcoholic. You don't have to tell me anything, just like you didn't need to pick out my post to respond to. You can think whatever way you want about him. I think he is a condescending a-hole. Just my opinion. He quoted your post because you finished with “know your limits”. He was responding that he has no limits because he is an alcoholic.
I mean, I'm sorry, but @Sharks79 79 is spot on. I have no control over whether or not you chose to be offended by what I posted but I wasn't trying to imply you were an alcoholic. You can think whatever way you want about him. I think he is a condescending a-hole. Just my opinion.

what I meant was an alcoholic has no limit, they don’t stop. No moderation switch. So yes, as such must apply total limitation.Wouldn't that be a Total Limitation , not No Limits ?
I kind of did have a moderation switch, once I started puking and passed out I quit drinking.what I meant was an alcoholic has no limit, they don’t stop. No moderation switch.
I know exactly what ya mean. Had a rough patch in my life and if I bought a 30 pack I was finishing a 30 pack. Handle of whiskey, drank handle. Wasn’t for enjoyment, was purposeful.I kind of did have a moderation switch, once I started puking and passed out I quit drinking.
I said it before every time I put alcohol in my body I was trying to get drunk.
I would slam them down as fast as I could. I went from Sober to hammered drunk, to puking, to passed out usually in less than an hour and a half.
I quit drinking and have been totally abstinence since December 14th 1982.
The thing that convinces me that I am an alcoholic is that even now I don't see any reason to put alcohol in your system unless you're trying to get hammered. I see no other purpose in alcohol. That tells me there is something wrong with my thinking and I'm better off just avoiding it entirely.
Six months after I got Sober I went to some dinner at my grandparents Country Club. The main dish was Duck A'lorange. I didn't know it was cooked with alcohol.
When I found out I freaked out and went immediately called my sponsor and asked him what to do. He informed me that the alcohol content is cooked out when the duck is cooked and that there was no actual alcohol in what I was eating.
As soon as he told me that I asked him "What the hell is the point of that?" He told me that that kind of thinking is what made me an alcoholic.
Around 10 years ago I was walking down the hallway in my apartment on my way to the laundry room and one of my neighbors passed me with a 12 pack of Corona.
Not my circus, not my monkeys, not my business. But I remember thinking to myself as I walked by him that in her 12 pack of Corona there were probably 12 oz of alcohol and it would have been much more efficient on his part to simply get a 12 oz bottle of Jack Daniels and drink that. So you could get the alcohol without having to drink all that beer.
Because if you have a 12 pack of Corona you're going to drink a 12 pack of Corona right? Why else would you buy a 12 pack?
I had been sober for over 30 years at that point. If I ever had any question in my mind that confirmed that there is something wrong in my brain with regard to alcohol.
There's an old saying I heard when I was young and I think it's true throw a rock and a pack of dogs and the one that barks the loudest is the one that got hit
