Reminds me of a time many many years ago. Good friend had a 7 yr daughter, my son was 6. My buddy lived on a steep hill and had worked making a Nice sled run, including hay bales by trees and stuff in case you went out of the run. Sun had been out a bit, melted the surface a bit and it then refrozen. That puppy was Slick and we’re were afraid to let the kids go down it alone-wat too fast. We had a couple of the old steerable wood sleds with metal rails. I laid down on the sled and my son laid down on my back holding onto Dad’s shoulders. My buddy let go of the sled and Zip we were gone-great ride. Back up the hill. I hold the sled, buddy lays down on it. 7 year old lays down on Dad’s back holding his shoulders. Buddy gives the word, I let go and they’re on the way😊. (Spoiler alert. Remember the soft hay bales? Seems they’d gotten wet and now had frozen solid. Instead of soft hay the run was now lined with large cement blocks that Used to be hay). Buddy and daughter are Flying down the run, buddy loses control and goes straight into a hay bale! Dad and the sled Stop-right now. Daughter looks like an F14 being catapulted off the Nimitz😳, flys 10 ft into a huge snow drift. She’s laughing and yelling “do it again Daddy, do it again”. “Daddy” meanwhile is rolling on the ground in misery on the remnants of what used to be a sled🙄. That ended the sledding on that particular sled run😊
