i tried searching for a thread specific to target practice, but could not find one.??

anyway, i was supposed to go and buy some lumber today and start repairs on my porch decking.

but it started to rain, so i went to the range instead.

i took my CZ 75B, and 50 rnds, factory S&B FMJ 124 gr.

i did have one very bad low shot, which i point out with the arrow.....

Just my $0.02 worth, If you continue to practice at 7 yards your groups will not improve as much. Move the targets out to at least 50ft. If too close, you tend to focus on the target rather than on the front sight. With targets at distance they are blurry so you can concentrate on the more critical alignment. As you improve ask yourself which direction does the front sight move within the rear notch as you squeeze to break the shot. As you reset the trigger after the shot, which direction does the front sight move.

yes, very often, i will practice at say, 8, then 10 yards. but i am also practicing at or about the FBI stats, that "most attacks" happen "with-in" 20 feet of you. (about 7 yards)

i am practicing for that, not so much competition.

like the CCW permit shooting qualification test...we have to shoot at the target at 25 yards......that's 75 feet away.

if i got 75 feet, i got time to run, or in my case, hobble to safety

to me, shooting at 75 feet away amounts to a gun fight, i need not to get into.

Good shooting but can't just buy a gun made in Turkey. Glad you had fun with it!
i know, some have explained it had to do with Turkey's policies/politics....

all i know is, they are well built, to specs, and perform and are not as high priced as other major brands.

getting parts can be daunting, as was (and maybe still the case) with the Vanik brand.

i had 2 of them, and getting magazines, or slide release springs, was impossible, and after i got rid of the first one, you'd think i had learnt my lesson, but nope, the next Canik saw me walking into the LGS, and jumped into my hand.....it was an amazing trick..>!!

but, overall, any Turkish gun(s) from any maker in that country performed as expected, and never disappointed at the range.

went to the range earlier today, and took my Ruger Vaquero (45 Colt LC)

only 50 rounds of ammo as well

this time, 8 yards away, and 2 targets.

each target, i got 1 bullseye, the rest...meh.....at least i did hit the targets.

after that, went to the large LGS, and inquired about 45 Colt LC..

they "used" to have Remington, that i bought at like $50 per 50 rounds, and bought 3 boxes at that visit.

today, no Remington, but Fiocchi Cowboy @ $52 per box, they had another brand, Winchester i think, at a mere $65 per box, needless to say, i went "cheaper".

besides, i have really been satisfied with the Fiocchi brand.

i only have now, 100 polished 45 Colt LC's ready to be reloaded, but i really don't want to set up the Dillon, for only 100 rounds.

funny too (not ha-ha funny) but the mom/pop bait-gun store HAS reloaded 45 Colt LC, at a mere $50...

i just cannot justify getting reloaded for same pricing as new........then get $2.00 off another box at trade in, when i can use the 1st fired brass i buy at same pricings.

good thing too, i do not shoot that Vaquero all that much
