    Looking for an EDC

Spot on. That's why my EDC is the Ruger EC9S. So small and light weight that I hardly know I am carrying it - that's why I DO carry it all the time. I wouldn't call it the best quality gun, but for me it is the best carry gun.

Is the 1911 Dangerous to Carry?

It seems to me that the most dangerous part of carrying is when you holster the gun. I believe it is a good idea to put your safety on when you holster. Once the gun is safely and securely snapped into the holster, you likely have no danger of it going off, if you have a good-quality holster...

Do sales influence your buying habits?

Not sure if I would call it a "sale" so much as a cheap price. I made the decision to buy my Ruger EC9S because of the very cheap price ($289 including tax). I wouldn't have bought it if it had bad reviews, but every review I saw was positive. People who looked like they were really into guns...

Texas man shoots his girlfriend's ex-husband

That's exactly what I thought when I saw the video - the poor kid no longer has a dad, a dad who clearly loved him.

Texas man shoots his girlfriend's ex-husband

I believe the shooter is guilty of murder. If he felt threatened by the ex-husband, who was only coming to demand that he be given his son according to the custody agreement, they should have gone in the house and shut and locked all doors. If, after doing that, the ex had broken into the...

    Renaming Every College Football Team

Certain people in our society want to get rid of the warrior spirit in America. I think we should have even tougher names. For example, the New Orleans Saints should be called The New Orleans Roughnecks, in honor of the oil and gas industry which is a big part of the Louisiana economy.

    Safe At Home

If I lived in the big city, I would be more concerned about a home invasion and needing to be constantly armed. As it stands, I live out in the country in a gun-friendly state. I'm sure that would-be criminals think about that when deciding who to rob and who to avoid. Even still, I am ready...

Republicans warn ATF taking 'giant leap toward a federal firearm registry'

I would be surprised if they weren't trying to develop a national gun registry. They probably already have one that they don't talk about. Everytime anyone posts online that they have a gun, that info becomes available. Anytime you watch a gun video on Youtube, Google keeps track of who...

Does your edc have a wml?

Keeping your finger off the trigger until you are ready to shoot is one of the rules of gun safety; not pointing the gun at something you don't intend to shoot is another. Following both of these rules gives you more assurance of avoiding an unintentional shooting than you would have if you...

Does your edc have a wml?

I heard of a really good reason why you don't want a light mounted to your pistol: you'll need to point your gun at whoever/whatever you are trying to see; and until you know what is there, you shouldn't point your gun in that direction.

Where's a good place to look at Holsters?

If you want a comfortable holster, go to Houston Gun Holsters: https://houstongunholsters.com/ Their Eco-Leather holsters are so comfortable, you will forget you are carrying. And they aren't very expensive. So if you decide you don't like it, you haven't lost much.

Blades for Self-Defense: Fearsome or Foolhardy?

I think of a blade as a back-up gun. It's a spare weapon - it might be needed, if for whatever reason you are not able to use your primary weapon. And it would be very useful if you had to cut something or open a can of food.

Should You Shoot? Self-Defense Tips You Don’t Know

I like the author's fourth condition - Preclusion. In other words, try to avoid having to shoot the person who is either about to attack you or is actually attacking you. Not only will you possibly avoid having to shoot someone, but if you do end up having to shoot the person, your chances of...
