Best Beginner’s 9mm?

January 22nd, 2020

The entry-level pistol market can be a complicated one to navigate. Most new shooters think they are caught between a budget versus selecting quality and reliability.

Yamil has found what he thinks is a great 9mm for beginners — and also experienced shooters looking for a deal.

Most seem to think that if they stay within an entry-level price range, they will automatically get a sub-par firearm. This need not be the case.

Getting Defensive

Case in point is Springfield Armory’s “Defend Your Legacy” series XD pistol. This 4″-barreled 9mm pistol packs in a 16+1 capacity, street-proven performance and reliability, and all at an MSRP of just $339. This is one of the most popular and proven striker-fired 9mm pistols available.

The “Defend Your Legacy” XD 9mm comes with a proof target, lock, manual, and one magazine — all in a no-frills white box.

How does Springfield accomplish this? They have taken the rock-solid XD Service Model 9mm, and given it a “no-frills” packaging set up to keep costs to a minimum. It comes with one magazine and a very simple white box. Everything that counts is there.

The XD is one of the toughest and most street-proven 9mm pistols available.

For Whom?

This is a great deal for any new shooter or even an experienced shooter looking for an accurate and reliable pistol, both for recreational shooting or self-defense. This pistol is also a superb platform for customization, with a good supply of aftermarket parts available. The XD can be customized to any shooter’s tastes, needs, or budget.

From its basic black finish to its simple three-dot sights, the Defend Your Legacy XD gives you everything you need and nothing you don’t.

Conclusion

In fact, I’ll be giving it that very treatment myself. Stay tuned for more, as I will be customizing this pistol with all sorts of aftermarket parts. The only limit with a pistol like this is your imagination (and budget).
