Is Your SAINT Armageddon-Ready?

July 4th, 2021

Not too long ago, we had a chance to test out some precision shooting gear from Armageddon Gear and were extremely pleased with it. In fact, we liked it so much that we jumped at the chance to review some of their other gear. This time around, we tried out some of the products suited to AR-style carbines like the Springfield Armory SAINT Victor we run a lot, as well as our XD-M Elite Tactical OSP.

The Armageddon Gear Heavy Carbine Sling proved to be a rugged piece of kit that will work great on your SAINT.

So, let’s dive in and take a look at this gear and see how it does. Read the article below, and check out the video at the top of the page.

Heavy Carbine Sling

First up, we have the Armageddon Gear Heavy Carbine Sling 1.5″. We were really pleased with the Armageddon Gear Precision Rifle Sling we tested last time around, and were curious to see how this one would do. We were not disappointed.

Armageddon Gear Heavy Carbine Sling
Armageddon Gear designed this sling to be 1.5″ wide to give it enough strength to handle practically any rifle you might run.

This two-point sling is definitely a heavy-duty offering that is wider than most slings, measuring a full 1.5” in width. Because of this sling’s thickness, width and elastic section, you will be able to comfortably carry anything from your lightweight 5.56mm rifle up to your heaviest .308 AR rifles.

The sling does have quick-sliding adjustments that allow you to quickly loosen or tighten the sling. Another thing we noticed that is very positive about this sling is how tightly it can hold the rifle to the body. The quick-sliding strap is great at really pulling the rifle close, and the elastic section helps with holding it tighter than a normal sling would. This sling definitely gets the GunSpot seal of approval. What a fantastic piece of gear — and in the running for the title of best AR-15 sling available for the SAINT!

Perfect Carbine Case

Next up, we have the Perfect Carbine Case from Armageddon Gear. The case comes with more than enough storage for a carbine, but it’s still “carbine length.” This is fantastic as that way your rifle doesn’t have room to slide from end to end like can happen with longer cases.

While keeping the length to a minimum, the Perfect Carbine Case still has a lot of storage.

The case has three large pockets, and all of them are double stitched. You can count on the fact it’s not going to wear out anytime soon.

The Perfect Carbine Case has sturdy double-stitching, ensuring that it is rugged and will stand up to a good amount of abuse.

The thing that we enjoyed the most about this bag was that the internal foam padding can be replaced. You simply unzip one side of the bag and remove the foam to dry it out if it gets wet, or replace it if it’s worn. We really gotta tip our hat to Armageddon Gear on this design, because nothing truly lasts forever and this features adds years of life to this case.

Sticky Game Changer Pint-Sized

The Sticky Game Changer Pint-Sized Support Bag really shines as a buttstock support bag for your scoped rifle. It could be used with an AR platform like the SAINT Victor, but you would need to have a short magazine like a 10-rounder.

The Sticky Game Changer Pint Sized Support Bag is a simple, yet well-designed bag that works great with pistols and rifles.

This bag is solid like you would hope a support bag would be, but the unique thing is that it has a grippy “sticky” texture on it that holds your gun in place. One other application we have used this bag for is sighting in red dots on handguns, and it’s really come in handy. You can grip the pistol and shove your hand right into this bag and it just feels so solid. This bag can make sighting in a rifle or a handgun optic very easy.

Conclusion

Armageddon Gear is slowly turning us into fans at GunSpot. I love that everything is handmade in America, because supporting American companies with American workers feels great. On top of that so far all the gear is solid equipment and all the designs and forethought given to each item has been great.
